Things to Know About United Healthcare and HIP for the Medical Biller

Here are some guidelines to look out for when doing medical billing for United Healthcare and HIP medical insurances. United Healthcare does not pay some pain management without pnc. US Healthcare HMO accounts dial 800-624-0756 for PPO's. Please keep in mind that some PPO's have their own designated units. For HMO's dial 800-323-9930 or 800-690-6529. Francine George in Overpayment Recoveries What sometimes happens when someone has United Healthcare as their primary insurance and then that person’s spouse has Empire Metropolitan as secondary through themselves in that case there would be coordination of benefits issues to consider here. Coordination of benefits would mean what insurance company would pay first and then who would pay secondary and tertiary and so on until the bill is paid. Healthcare Partners has HIP identification cards but medical claims have to be filed with Healthcare Partners so you must call the insurance company to be sure if it is a going to Healthcare Partners or HIP.
