Michael Joseph Jackson was born August 29, 1958 and died June 25, 2009 at 50 years of age due to cardiac arrest. It is believed that he died due to a shot of the painkiller Demerol. However, before his death on Thursday he was injected with a drug Diprivan and was not taken to the hospital. You can read that story below: http://www.accesshollywood.com/report-michael-jackson-begged-for-insomnia-drug_article_...
His former wife Lisa Marie Presley posted a blog that he knew that he was going to die of a heart attack just like her father did hours later. She said that “he knew.” His doctor, Dr. Conrad Robert Murray will speak with investigators about the incident.
I can't believe Michael Jackson is dead. When I was ten years old I came home from school one day to find my mother crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said John Lennon died today.
I said who's John Lennon, thinking that he might be a family member that I just didn't get a chance to meet or someone who would say that they knew me as a baby. She said he's a singer and he died and you'll understand when you get older.
Why do people have to say that to children. Why do people have to say that they will understand when they get older. In this case I don't want to understand when I get older.
OMG! I was on my way to work when I heard all of these radio stations talking about little Michael and how good he was when he was younger and how even preschoolers graduate from preschool singing “ABC, 123.”
I felt a twinge of “Oh no, it couldn't be!” and I didn't believe he was dead because the radio station's weren't saying that he was dead so I thought that there was just another rumor about him going around or that maybe he had gotten into trouble with the law again.
I just didn't want to believe he was dead and I didn't until I went into the cafeteria on my job and saw a tribute to him on CNN and a yellow marquee at the bottom of the TV screen stating that he was dead.
Now I know what my mother felt when John Lennon died. It feels like a part of my youth just died along with him. So many hours were spent back in 1982 to 1984 trying to dance like him, and playing his records, going to Michael Jackson dance contests, rollerskating to his music at United Skates of America, and wearing Michael Jackson tee shirts.
I mean, I could go on and on. Michael Jackson was so famous, I even saw a televangelist preach against him.
Thriller is the only album that I bought three times. I first bought the record back in the 80's because we had a record player back then. Then in 1993 I bought Thriller on cassette tape to put in my tape player while I went walking and jogging.
Then in the year 2000 I bought the Off The Wall and Thriller Cd's so that I could listen to the music while I cleaned house and whatnot.
The positive messages in his music that I heard during my workouts were very inspiring and have inspired me to workout to his music every day as I lose weight.
On June 26, 2009, when I found out Michael Jackson died I took it kind of hard. I was at the laundromat crying when someone gently said here and handed me a quarter that I had dropped on the floor.
It was that simple act of kindness that made me feel better. I decided that in honor of Michael's life, that I want to lose weight and exercise every day for one hour to two hours to Michael Jackson music.
I want to take my body back to 1982, a size 6 figure and I will exercise to Michael Jackson all the way! I want to show the world what 1982 looks like on me! I am finally ready to look at “The Man In The Mirror” and yes, “I Want To Be Starting Something” when it comes to fitness.
That is the only way that I feel his life and music can usher in a new beginning in my life because after death there is always new birth.
I remember when Thriller first came out there was a phone number on the back of the record and this lady down south got hundreds of phone calls a day from eager fans asking if Michael Jackson was there and she thought it was amusing at the time.
It would be great if we had a phone number to call to leave our condolences to the Jackson family now.
Comments from my co-workers include:
“The funeral is going to be a Thriller.”
“He finally Beat It.”
“His family is going to get those kids to spoil three more kids.”
“With Farrah Fawcett's death, I mean, at least you knew she was sick, but with Michael Jackson, it's a complete surprise.”
In spite of the many unfair rumors about him, Michael Jackson will be sorely missed and forever loved by his fans. The moonwalk is dead. The Gloved One is dead. Little Michael is dead. The King of Pop is dead.
