Honey Rounds By Angel Bean Honey Rounds What you need: 2 Sticks of sweet butter ½ Cup of sugar ¼ Cup of honey 2 Teaspoons of freshly grated orange peel 1 ½ Teaspoons of vanilla ¼ Pound of almonds 2 ½ Cups of flour 1 Teaspoon of baking powder ½ Teaspoon of baking soda 3 Dozen cloves ¼ Cup confectioner’s sugar Cookie sheet Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar. Now beat in the honey, orange peel and vanilla extract. Combine the almonds with the dry ingredients and blend well. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture a little at a time stirring until a smooth dough is formed. Pinch walnut sized pieces off the dough then place each piece on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press a clove into the center of each round. Bake 10 to 15 minutes until the bottoms are brown. The tops of the cookies should be pale. Makes three dozen cookies.
