Drug Addicts and Humility

Some drug addicts like to get up on a soapbox when they go to share at the meetings take Alice for example. Alice thinks she is Dr. Ruth + Dr. Phil + Maya Angelou + Reverend Al Sharpton all rolled together and the end result is that she doesn't make that much sense. I mean she pulls from the Bible and she quotes a lot of AA stuff but she is just really hard to listen to. Then you have Rosie. Rosie has more “clean time” that is time spent away from drug addiction and alcoholism than anybody. She has been clean for at least 20 year and here she is putting away chairs at the end of the meetings. I mean all these other people who come in and talk that is they give a speech or do a presentation and then they leave a mess afterward and just go. They leave a mess because they think that they are speakers and stuff and here this old woman is humble enough to put away the chairs after the meeting and that was what really got me. ( I overheard this conversation someone was having very loudly on the bus these are not my experiences but I just had to share this.)
